Rock Revolution is a modern bouldering and climbing gym designed as a welcoming, community-driven space that supports climbers of all ages and experience levels. Founded by Jessica and Mike Kinnick, the gym opened in August 2025, transforming a former office building into a vibrant hub for movement, training, and connection.
Designed and built in partnership with EP Climbing, Rock Revolution repurposed an existing structure by opening the space between levels to create a bright, light-filled, and dynamic interior. The flexible layout allows the gym to support youth programs, fitness activities, and community events, while maintaining a strong focus on high-quality climbing.
Beyond climbing, the gym offers a multipurpose room designed for events and community gatherings, along with a comfortable lounge area, locker rooms with showers, and a retail space. An advanced air filtration system helps manage chalk and maintain a high level of indoor air quality, ensuring a comfortable environment for climbers and visitors alike.
Located near the University of Virginia, Rock Revolution opened at the end of summer to build momentum heading into the fall season. The gym was designed with future expansion in mind, including the potential to add additional climbing terrain as the local climbing community continues to grow.
