The University of Maryland has reimagined its recreational offerings with the addition of an indoor bouldering zone, thanks to a student-led initiative and EP Climbing’s expertise. By converting a double racquetball court into a vibrant climbing hub, the university has created a year-round activity space that meets the needs of its student body.
Livi Carey, the chair of Maryland Club Climbing in 2023, spearheaded the project after noticing the limitations of outdoor climbing facilities, which were only open two months per semester due to weather.
EP Climbing transformed an underutilized double racquetball court into a dynamic climbing area. This project highlights our team's ability to repurpose unused spaces and create tailored solutions for campus recreation.
Key Features of the Facility:
This indoor climbing facility is a testament to the power of student-driven initiatives and EP Climbing’s innovative approach. By transforming underutilized space into a vibrant recreational hub, the University of Maryland has enhanced student life and provided a lasting resource for its students and faculty.
