Project Description

The 2024 Paris Olympics

This was a historic moment for climbing at the iconic Le Bourget Climbing Venue, celebrated from August 5th to 10th.

The event drew thousands of spectators and millions of viewers from all around the world.

The Field of Play had 3 walls: The lead wall, the Speed wall, and The TITAN wall. All of them were designed and built by us, EP Climbing, and here we tell you all about it.

Climbing at the 2024 Paris Olympics was a significant moment for the sport. The event took place at the Le Bourget Climbing Venue from August 5th to 10th. It witnessed remarkable performances and attracted spectators and viewers worldwide. Unlike in Tokyo, the Speed and Combined disciplines were separated in Paris, allowing climbers to compete for more medals, demonstrating incredible agility and skill.

The reception of climbing at the Games was overwhelmingly positive. The competitions were incredibly exciting, particularly the Speed finals, which set new records, and the Combined events that challenged athletes in bouldering and lead climbing, testing their endurance and technique.

Our journey started in Tokyo, where EP constructed the climbing walls, but for Paris 2024, we improved them. Our production facility, ACEP in Spain, carefully crafted the panels to ensure that the climbing walls were not only functional but also visually stunning, delivering a "wow" effect with the design and color schemes. The EP team faced the monumental task of building everything within just two weeks, and we succeeded in creating a world-class stage for the athletes.

Looking ahead to Los Angeles 2028, where para climbing has been confirmed as a new event, we are excited to see how the sport will continue to evolve. The success of climbing in Paris has set a new standard, and we're eager to keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the world of climbing.
