STARTING OF THE IFSC WORLD CUP

BRIANÇON, CLIMBING CAPITAL OF THE WORLD, AUGUST 21-22

Friday August 21st and Saturday 22nd, the IFSC climbing World Cup will be hosted in Briançon. It’s the 10th year that the city located in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes in France will showcase such an event.

It’s been more than 5 months since the last IFSC competition in Los Angeles and Covid put things in standby.

The IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing) and the FFME (Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l’Escalade) have been working very hard to implement measures to ensure the safety of all (athletes, spectators and organization) during competitions.

Thanks to those efforts, athlete participation is going to be exceptional as Briançon will see most of the best climbers in the world participate in a lead/difficulty competition.

Since travel is restricted, no points will be awarded.

The qualification round will kick off on Friday morning, with semifinals scheduled at 19h30. On Saturday, the women’s final will start at 19h30 followed by the men’s final at 20h45.

The semis and finals will be live streamed on the IFSC’s website and YouTube channel.

EP Climbing, as the partner of the IFSC, is the proud supplier of climbing walls at IFSC competitions, including those of the Olympic Games.
