HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN A CLIMBING WALL?
Did you know, a well-maintained climbing wall can last for over 20 years?
To extend the life of your climbing walls and ensure continued safety, it is important to complete both mandatory and recommended annual inspections and maintenance.
PPE INSPECTION
Personal protection equipment inspections are necessary to ensure climber safety and confirm that all equipment follows the current safety standards. The EP Climbing team can help you set up the appropriate systems needed to manage PPE correctly.
COMPLIANCE AUDITS & UPGRADES
Climbing wall compliance with local safety standards changes over time with normal wear and tear. Therefore, it is important to conduct regular audits to ensure that everything is up-to-date and plan to upgrade when necessary.
REGULAR INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE
It is recommended to schedule annual inspections and maintenance for your climbing wall to establish ongoing operational safety of the structure, its surfaces, and surrounding areas. Inspection and maintenance should only be performed by trained personnel and qualified professionals.
ROUTESETTING
High-quality routesetting is vital to making any climbing business a success. Trained routesetters can create fun, challenging, and dynamic routes to attract climbers of all skill levels to your gym.
HEADRUSH TRUBLUE INSPECTIONS & REPAIRS
All Head Rush TRUBLUE auto-belay devices need to go through annual inspections to ensure they comply with safety standards and extend their warranty. During the inspection, worn or non-compliant parts will be replaced, and the device tested to ensure it functions correctly.
In between maintenance appointments, EP also recommends regularly cleaning wall panels, re-bolting, and avoiding moisture as much as possible to avoid extensive wear and tear.
In addition to showing you some examples, this brochure will provide you with advice, knowledge about the different climbing disciplines and our recommendations for your facility.
