EP Climbing, a global leader in the manufacturing of climbing walls and holds, announces the appointment of Damien TATANGELO as its new CEO, effective January 1, 2025. He succeeds Benoît BEYLIER, who has taken on a strategic role within the ABEO Group as Global Activities Developer, focusing on expanding the group’s activities in emerging markets such as Asia and Africa.
Damien TATANGELO is well-versed in the climbing industry and the company itself, having led EP Climbing in China. He also successfully implemented an ambitious CSR strategy for ABEO, EP Climbing’s parent company.
Under his leadership, EP Climbing is set to follow a positive and ambitious trajectory:
Damien, 44, holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from SIGMA (formerly IFMA) in Clermont-Ferrand. Married with two children, he has been with the ABEO Group for over 10 years, holding various operational leadership roles in France and internationally, before taking on the role of Head of CSR for the group.
“It is a privilege to take on this role and work alongside such a talented and dedicated team. 2025 will be a year of challenges and opportunities. Our strategic, operational, and commercial priorities will support sustainable growth, greater collaboration across teams and partners, and continued success.”
This announcement comes as EP Climbing also extends its long-term partnership with the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) for the period 2025-2028. This renewal marks an incredible 22 years of collaboration, illustrating a strategic alliance to drive the growth of the climbing sport. With its expertise and products, EP Climbing will continue its commitment to the IFSC, supporting the next competition seasons and beyond, with eyes on Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, where paralympic climbing will make its Olympic debut.
