EP Climbing at the Paris 2024 Olympics
EP Climbing played a key role in the Paris 2024 Olympics, designing and building the climbing walls at the Le Bourget Climbing Venue from August 5th to 10th. This event was a major moment for climbing, putting the sport in the global spotlight.
The Olympic Climbing Walls
At Paris 2024, climbing was featured in three disciplines: lead climbing, speed climbing, and bouldering. EP Climbing was responsible for the walls used in these events:
- Lead Climbing Wall: A 15-meter wall with our Mozaik technology and 18mm panels, designed to challenge athletes' endurance and technique.
- Speed Climbing Wall: Also 15 meters high, this wall used 21mm panels with Mozaik technology, supporting both personal bests and record-breaking performances.
- TITAN Boulder Wall: Standing at 4.5 meters, the TITAN wall, developed with the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), used 18mm panels and Mozaik technology. Its dynamic angles added excitement to the bouldering events.
From Design to Construction
Building on our experience from the Tokyo Olympics, we refined our designs for Paris, creating walls that met the high standards of Olympic competition. Constructed at our facility in Spain, each wall was built within a tight two-week schedule, providing a challenging and engaging experience for the athletes.
The TITAN Wall’s Legacy
EP Climbing is proud to have contributed to the success of the Paris 2024 Olympics with the TITAN wall. Designed in collaboration with the IFSC, the TITAN wall has been featured in numerous prestigious competitions, including:
- IFSC World Championship in Bern 2023
- Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games
- Asian Kids Championship
- Neom Beach Games
- Asian Qualifier
- Pan American Games
- Paris 2024 Olympics
It has also been prominently installed in private climbing gyms, such as:
- Natural Climb, Spain
- The Climbing Lab, UK
- Portland Rock Gym, USA
It was an honor to see the TITAN wall take center stage at such a prestigious event in Paris. Our walls have a proven track record of high quality and innovation, thanks to our collaboration with route setters, coaches, and other industry professionals. We are excited to continue supporting the sport at both local and international levels.
Looking Ahead to Los Angeles 2028
With climbing's growing popularity and the introduction of para climbing at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, EP Climbing is looking forward to contributing to the sport’s future. Our TITAN Boulder Wall, now available for climbing gyms worldwide, allows climbers to experience Olympic-level challenges.
A Significant Achievement
Being part of the Paris 2024 Olympics was a significant milestone for EP Climbing. We’re proud of our contribution to the event and remain focused on advancing the sport and bringing climbing to everyone.
