EP Climbing at CWA 2025: What's Going On at Booth 203

What's New: Holds, Volumes, and Tech

We’ve been busy this year, and it’s all showing up at CWA 2025.

What's New: Holds, Volumes, and Tech

First up, we're rolling out a full rework of our Switchblade line. The original series is being retired and replaced by two brand-new families: Switchblade Edges and Switchblade Pinches. Each set has 58 shapes, from XS to 4XL, with angles and usable surfaces that are clean, matched, and super dialed. You can build precise blockers, seams, and stacks across both sets—everything plays well together.

We’re also bringing out the Cassini Pinches—another brand-new set designed with a moderate profile that's perfect for steep, thuggy bouldering. It’s a versatile collection of 60 pinches that give setters more ways to throw in variety and keep climbers guessing, whether you're building comp-style boulders or dialing in technical routes.

And if you’re into macros and volumes, we’ve got those too. Barchans Macros will be making their first U.S. trade show appearance. They’ve been in production for about 10 months, and we’re finally bringing them to CWA so you can check them out in person.

Our volumes are now being produced in an extended partnership with Peak Performance Polymers, which means tighter quality control, faster lead times, and easier shipping—especially when you’re ordering holds and volumes together.

Coffee, Conversation, and Collaboration

If you want to talk shop, we’re hosting a coffee hour on Friday from 9–10 AM (right near the conference rooms). No panels, no presentations. Just a chance to hang out, share ideas, and chat about where this industry is headed.

Celebrating 40 Years

EP Climbing turns 40 this year, which feels surreal. We started with the first-ever climbing holds in 1983 and have been building walls and shaping holds ever since, from the early X Games days to the Olympics, and everything in between. We’ll be marking the milestone with some throwbacks, some freebies, and definitely some gratitude for everyone who’s been part of the ride.
