Project Description

In the summer of 2025, The North Face brought climbing to the heart of San Francisco with the Climb Festival, a large-scale event celebrating climbing and culture. Partnering with EP Climbing, the festival featured a stunning Deep Water Solo competition wall that turned the city’s waterfront into a one-of-a-kind climbing arena.

With over 18,000 attendees, 207 million media impressions, and 100 athletes — including professionals, local gym climbers, and paraclimbers — the event united the climbing community in an unforgettable urban spectacle.

EP’s Role

EP Climbing designed, engineered, and installed the Deep Water Solo competition structure — a visual and technical centerpiece that embodied both challenge and artistry. Built to combine performance and safety, the wall showcased EP’s expertise in creating temporary event structures that meet elite standards.

Alongside the competition, EP also delivered the TNF Climbing Crag, an interactive wall offering free climbing sessions led by Touchstone Climbing. This activation welcomed over 550 new climbers, reflecting The North Face’s mission to make climbing accessible to everyone.
